Spanish restaurant chain Pans&Company responded, Wednesday, to those who accused its staff of racism. The company thus defended itself after a waitress that works for one of its restaurants in Girona refused to serve several young Moroccans because of their origin, citing her bosses’ instructions.
The restaurant chain said that its policy is «based on equality», dismissing accusations, after a viral video showed the waitress in question refusing the orders of Moroccan clients.
According to Spanish newspaper 20 Minutes, the company also said it could not tolerate «a discriminatory and racist attitude towards anyone».

In its press release, relayed on Twitter, the company said that it is launching an «internal investigation to determine» the circumstances of the alleged incident.
A statement that comes while the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Families of the local government in Barcelona, Chakir el Homrani estimated that the images relayed on social networks «speak for themselves».
