Two people killed after a shisha café caught fire in Tangier

On New Years’ eve, a Tangier shisha café caught fire, leading to the death of two people. Two other people were heavily injured during the incident.

According to local authorities, the incident started because of a short circuit.

Eyewitnesses told Arabic-language newspaper Alyaoum24 that the first thing to catch fire was «the Christmas tree» before it spread over the whole place.

According to the same source, four people were rushed to the hospital but two of them died due to their injuries.
