Morocco is planning to spend 115 billion dirhams on a water supply program for the period between 2020 and 2027, wrote Reuters, quoting the country’s state news agency.
The new project was announced in a royal statement following a working session chaired, Tuesday, in Marrakech by King Mohammed VI.
The new plan dubbed program for drinking water supply and irrigation 2020-2027 will include the construction of dams, the act of managing water development in agricultural field, strengthening water supply in rural areas, reusing and treating wastewater and preserving water resources.
The British news agency recalls that Morocco’s economic growth is expected to fall to 2.7% in 2019 from 3% in 2018 because of a lack of rainfall.
