King Mohammed VI held, Thursday, a telephone conversation with Tunisian President Kais Saied, the royal cabinet said in a statement relayed by MAP.

«This phone call, at the initiative of HM the King, was an opportunity to recall the strong historical relations between the two brotherly Maghreb countries and to agree on an exchange of visits, soon, between the two Heads of State», the same statement added.

This is the first time that the two leaders hold a telephone conversation, following the election of Kais Saied.

For the record, the Tunisian President will visit Algiers in the upcoming weeks at the invitation of Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune, Rachida Ennaifer the Saied’s advisor told reporters on January 7.
