Spain’s new Foreign Affairs Minister Arancha Gonzalez Laya is expected to visit Rabat on January 24. In Morocco, she will be meeting her Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita, Spanish reports say.

The Morocco visit will be Laya’s first trip outside Europe as a Foreign Affairs Minister. On Sunday, the Minister will fly to Brussels to attend the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. On Monday, she will also participate to a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union in Brussels.

For the record, Laya’s predecessor Josep Borrell visited Morocco on his first diplomatic trip outside the country as a Foreign Affairs Minister.
