Morocco and the United Kingdom have signed new partnerships in the educational field. On the sidelines of the UK-Africa Investment Summit, kicked off Monday, the UK’s Minister of State at the Department for International Trade Conor Burns announced that the a Memorandum of Understanding «is being signed between the UK’s Reigate School and Morocco’s British International School Partners».
Speaking at an event during the summit, Burns said, Wednesday, that this agreement «will see the building of three Reigate Grammar branded K-12 schools across» Morocco by 2025.
In addition to this MoU, Coventry University, a public teaching focused university in England, is expected to sign a similar agreement with the Superior Institution of Science and Technology. The agreement is worth £14 million and is meant to «develop joint educational facilities and programs on teacher training, research and staff/ student mobility», the minister added.
Meanwhile, British multinational pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline will sign an agreement with Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences «to provide training for health professionals», he concluded.
For the record, a Morocco delegation is attending the UK-Africa Investment Summit, hosted by London.
