To Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s relations with Muslim and Arab countries are not known to the public.

Speaking at the annual leadership mission of the Conference of President of Major American Jewish Organizations, Sunday, Netanyahu revealed that «only 10% of Israel’s relations with Muslim countries are known», addressing his «efforts» to deepen ties with several states in the Middle East.

During the same event, he stressed that «there is scarcely one Muslim or Arab country around the world we don’t have deepening ties with», The Jerusalem Post reports.

«Sometimes it comes out in the open», he added, recalling that last year he went on «a very moving visit to Oman, and two weeks ago [he] had a very moving visit with the president of Sudan».

Netanyahu’s statement comes as several media reports suggested in the recent weeks that he has been trying to normalize ties with several Arab and Muslim countries, including Morocco.

Reports claimed that Netanyahu has reportedly been trying to convince the Trump administration of agreeing to a three-way deal that would see Washington recognize Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara and Rabat normalize ties with Tel Aviv.

Reports have also suggested that Israel is discussing with the US the possibility of having Arab and Muslim countries, including Morocco, sign a non-aggression agreement with Israel.
