Morocco’s consulate in Verona, a city in northern Italy, has set up a crisis unit to assist Moroccans living in the area, amid outbreak of the new coronavirus in Italy.

In a statement sent, Sunday, to the presidents of Islamic associations and centers in Italy, the consulate explains that this cell was set up after health authorities announced that the country is witnessing the worst outbreak of the coronavirus in Europe.

The cell is intended to «communicate and monitor the development and state of health of the members of the Moroccan diaspora».

A telephone number (00 39 38 99 65 21 68) has therefore been set up for this purpose.

The press release finally recalls that the Italian health centers set up a toll-free number (1500) for anyone who has the symptoms of this virus.

Italy, the European country most affected by the coronavirus, has 152 cases and three deaths, AFP reported on Monday.
