The Lower House’s commission on social sectors is expected to hold an urgent meeting on Friday, March 6, to review Morocco’s action plan to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The meeting will be attended by several parliamentary groups from different political parties, including Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), the National Rally of Independents (RNI), the Constitutional Union (UC), Istiqlal (Independence) party, the Popular Movement (MP), Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) and the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS).
During this meeting, the commission, headed by Istiqlal MP Saida Ait Bou Ali, will be examining the measures implemented by Saadeddine El Othmani’s cabinet to curb the spread of the novel virus. Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb will also attend the meeting to answer questions about his ministry’s efforts to combat the virus.
For the record, Morocco announced on Monday its first confirmed coronavirus case.
