Morocco has decided to install thermal-imaging cameras at its border with Ceuta because of coronavirus.

According to El Faro de Ceuta, the device, which instantly indicates body temperature and helps control people entering the Moroccan territory, was installed on Tuesday, sources said. The local newspaper wrote, however, that «this method is not completely reliable» and that it is «rather a preventive tool».

Installing this device is part of Morocco’s measures put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus. Morocco announced on Monday its first confirmed coronavirus case.

The Moroccan Ministry of Health said last night on its Facebook page that 32 other suspected cases have tested negative for virus.
