A few days after the administrative court in Casablanca issued a ruling allowing a Libyan national to enter the Moroccan territory, the Administrative Court of Rabat overturned this decision on Thursday.

The national was traveling from Malta to Tunis and got stranded in the Mohammed V international airport after a stopover in Morocco. He was stranded for a week, since Morocco had canceled all its international flights to avoid the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Arabic-language newspaper Al3omk recalls that as he doesn’t have a residence permit, the traveler could not leave the airport.

A lawyer seized the administrative court of Casablanca, which issued an urgent order that was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in order to allow the national to stay in Morocco on an exceptional basis, given the circumstances of his trip.

Indeed, this decision was made after the Libyan citizen underwent coronavirus tests, attesting that he is not infected.
