Repatriation operations for foreign tourists stranded in Morocco was resumed on Friday and Saturday. The US consulate in Casablanca announced on Friday that it organized another evacuation flight from Morocco, repatriating more than 200 passengers.
In a tweet from the US Embassy in Morocco, diplomatic officials highlighted that the plan is «part of the State Department effort to bring Americans home». «Thank you to the Moroccan government and British Airways for helping us secure 10 flights for 1,500 Americans», it added.

For its part, Switzerland has also organized repatriation flights for its nationals stranded in Morocco. On Saturday evening, an Edelweiss plane landed in Zurich, coming from Casablanca. It was carrying 80 Swiss travelers.
According to the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by the media Nau.ch, 43 passengers from other countries were on this flight, 21 of them live in Switzerland while 22 others live in other European countries.
For the record, 14 commercial flights from Morocco were carried out thanks to diplomatic interventions, the same source reported, adding that «Saturday's flight from Casablanca was the fourth special flight from North Africa and the seventh special flight from Africa» carried out to repatriate Swiss nationals.
