As of Wednesday evening, Morocco recorded 136 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 2,024.
The number of suspected cases that tested negative for the virus reached 8,626 cases, said the Head of the Directorate of Epidemiology and the fight against infectious diseases at the Health Ministry, Mohamed Lyoubi, during a daily press briefing.
The official also announced that one death was recorded in the past 24 hours, leaving the total number at 127 victims. As for recoveries, Morocco recorded 12 new ones, bringing the total number to 229.
Lyoubi said that 114 of the confirmed cases in Morocco were recorded within families and among workers in plants.
As of Wednesday, the number of people who were in contact with Covid-19 confirmed cases reached 11,934 people, including 5,130 ones who are still under quarantine.
