As of Thursday evening, Morocco recorded 136 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 2,283, said the Head of the Directorate of Epidemiology and the fight against infectious diseases at the Health Ministry, Mohamed Lyoubi, during a daily press briefing.
The official also announced that 3 deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, leaving the total number at 130 victims. As for recoveries, Morocco recorded 20 new ones, bringing the total number to 249.
Lyoubi said most of the new confirmed coronavirus cases in Morocco were recorded within families and among workers in plants in the city of Casablanca, Marrakech, Tangier and Fes.
As of Wednesday, the number of people who were in contact with Covid-19 confirmed cases reached 12,357 people, including 5,147 ones who are still under quarantine. 1,128 have tested positive for the virus.
