Jamal Challiui went to Morocco on March 14 to discover new trends in bridal fashion for his wedding boutique in Charlois, district of the Dutch city of Rotterdam.

He would have never imagined that he was taking the last flight to Morocco before the Kingdom's air, land and sea borders were closed as a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus, Open Rotterdam reports.

In Nador, the Dutch-Moroccan immediately started thinking of others and tried to find a way to help the locals during the confinement. «I have often done things with charities in Morocco. This is how I get something positive out of it», he said.

The Moroccan-born Dutch then decided to distribute food kits after learning that many people were unable to support their families due to the lockdown.

Challiui also shared his adventure via Facebook and Snapchat, through which he also received daily donations from Dutch-Moroccans and Belgian-Moroccans.

«The kit includes necessary supplies to help people who really need it», he said, adding that «sometimes you have to be very selective», he regretted.
