As of Monday afternoon, Morocco recorded 55 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the Kingdom to 4,120.
«43 of the new cases were in close contact with previously confirmed ones», Mohamed Lyoubi, head of the epidemiology and fight against infectious diseases department at the Ministry of Health, said during the daily press briefing.
He added that «7,679 of those who were in contact with confirmed cases are still under medical supervision», adding that this operation has allowed the sanitary authorities to report 2,539 cases out of the 4,120 ones recorded in Morocco.
Casablanca-Settat, Marrakech-Safi and Fez-Meknes are the regions with the highest number of Covid-19 infections, the official said.
Between Sunday and Monday, Morocco registered one death, bringing the total number of people who died because of the Covid-19 to 162.
The Kingdom also recorded 102 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, totaling 695 people having fully recovered from the disease.
