Invited to a show Thursday evening on 2M, Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb said that «the pandemic is under control and the results are promising» in Morocco. «The Moroccan experience has been hailed internationally», he said.
The «positive results» are part of «the protocol, based on chloroquine and azithromycin, used by Morocco since March 23 on infected patients», he added. He also stressed that «containment has reduced the spread of the coronavirus by 85%, according to international studies, especially among people with a fragile immune system».
«To say that the epidemiological situation is under control does not in not mean that we have overcome the pandemic», he warned.
«No one can predict a date for the end of the lockdown because it essentially depends on the epidemiological situation».
For the record, Morocco declared a state of health emergency on March 20 and extended it to May 20.
