Morocco records 166 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 185 new recoveries

166 new confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded between Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 5,219.

During a daily press briefing, Mohamed Lyoubi, head of the epidemiology department at the Health Ministry, said that the number of Covid-19 patients who recovered stands at 1838, with 185 new recoveries.

He added that the death toll stands at 181, with two new deaths recorded between Monday and Tuesday. 44,351 people have tested negative for the virus in Morocco so far.

The official said that most of the new cases were in close contact with other confirmed cases.
