Two new hotspots discovered in Morocco, the number of daily new coronavirus cases drops

As of Friday, May 15, Morocco recorded 45 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 6,652.

The number of recoveries has reached 3,400, with 90 new recovered cases, which increases the recovery rate to 51.1%, Mohamed Lyoubi, head of the epidemiology department at the Ministry of Health, said Friday.

He recalled that the number of people having recovered is higher than that of active cases. He added that the total number of deaths is at 190, with a fatality rate of 2.9%.

The health official said during the daily press briefing that most of the confirmed cases recorded in the last 24 hours were recorded in Casablanca in a factory and in two households in Tangier.
