Speaking Tuesday at the House of Counselors, head of government Saadeddine El Othmani said that 31,819 Moroccan nationals are currently stranded abroad, awaiting repatriation. He explained that the government is «mobilized» to find a solution for these nationals, adding that the Foreign Ministry has been able to accommodate 25% of the stranded citizens.

«We are aware of how difficult this problem is. Elected officials and high-ranking ones, including members of my family, are in the same situation», he said.

El Othmani announced that all departments concerned by this subject «have prepared a roadmap» intended to facilitate the repatriation of nearly 32,000 Moroccans, referring in particular to quarantining the repatriated nationals.

However, El Othmani stressed that the roadmap will be implemented once a decision is made.
