99 new confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded between Sunday and Monday, May 25, in Morocco, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 7,532.
In a daily press briefing, head of epidemiology department at the Health Ministry Mohamed Lyoubi said, Monday, that 85 of the new cases were in close contact with previously confirmed cases.
The health official said that the number of recoveries has reached 4,774, with 71 new recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate in the country is at 63.4%. One death was recorded during the same period, bringing the death toll to 200. The fatality rate is at 2.7% in the country.
Lyoubi explained that although the R0 of the coronavirus is slightly decreasing nationwide, standing at 0.76, it is higher in some regions, especially in the Casablanca-Settat region where it stands at 0.93.
