Morocco is extending the state of health emergency to July 10, the Council of Government announced after its earlier reunion on Tuesday. While the health emergency is to be maintained for one month, the lockdown will be gradually lifted throughout the country.
The gradual lift will have to take into consideration the epidemiological situation of each region.
The announcement comes as Head of Government Saadeddine El Othmani is expected to speak, Wednesday, at the parliament and give a detailed plan for the post-lockdown period.
For the record, Morocco declared a state of health emergency on March 20 to avoid the spread of the new coronavirus. The measure was carried alongside a strict lockdown that had been extended twice.
