At least 300 Moroccans will head home, Wednesday, after they have been stranded in southern Spain for three months.

Well-informed sources told Yabiladi that three flights will repatriate the stranded nationals, linking the Tetouan Saniat R’mel airport to that of Malaga-Costa del Sol. Morocco’s national carrier RAM will operate the three flights on 2:20 p.m., 4:20 p.m. and 6:20 p.m.

Stranded Moroccans, previously housed in hotels in Algeciras, confirmed to Yabiladi that they were driven this morning on a bus to the Malaga airport to catch one of the scheduled flights.

The operation comes after Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita said Tuesday that Moroccans stranded in Spain will be brought home in next 48 hours. He also announced that the next repatriation operations would cover other countries and regions, namely Turkey, France, Gulf and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The operation is the sixth of its kind, with 1,103 people repatriated in the past three weeks.
