Spanish police in Marbella arrested a 30-year-old Moroccan, who is the subject of a search and arrest warrant issued by Interpol at the request of Morocco.

According to Diario Sur, the man is wanted by the kingdom which requests his extradition for crimes linked to drug trafficking. The Moroccan had also received a search order from the Marbella investigating court.

The arrest took place when a local police plainclothes patrol saw a suspicious man with a nervous attitude. When approached by the police, he reportedly attempted to flee. After asking for his ID and finding that he was the subject of an arrest warrant, the officers searched him and arrested him.

This operation made it possible to seize 30 doses of cocaine and 40 tablets of ecstasy in plastic bags, as well as 2,325 euros, the same source concludes.
