During this week, shipping company Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea transported 1,293 Spanish nationals repatriated from Morocco on two special trips, made on June 10 and 11 from the ports of TangerMED to the Malaga port in Spain.

According to Portal Portuario, 205 vehicles of Spanish citizens and European Union residents were transported to Malaga.

The same source explained that the ship was not used at full capacity, in order to comply with sanitary protocols. «The two trips went perfectly well and the passengers respected all the procedures established by the Spanish and Moroccan authorities, hence the smooth running of the repatriation expeditions», the same source said.

Still according to the same media, the repatriation operations were successful due to the combined work of the Spanish Embassy in Rabat and its network of consulates in Morocco as well as the Moroccan authorities.

For the record, Spain is also running new repatriation operations for its stranded nationals in Morocco through ships that will link Morocco to southern Spain during the next two weeks.
