A boat carrying 22 Moroccan men was intercepted, Monday, by Portugal’s maritime police near Vale de Lobo beach in Loulé, Portugal Resident reports.
The boat was spotted by a fisherman who alerted the authorities, the same source said. Aged between 20 and 30, the 22 men claimed that they are from El Jadida. They told police that they spent three days sailing before reaching Algarve.
The men underwent coronavirus tests but the results have not been known yet.
For the record, this is the fourth time that authorities in Algrave intercept boats coming from Morocco in the last six months. Last week, seven Moroccan men were on a boat intercepted by maritime authorities in Portugal.
