Coronavirus in Morocco : 226 new cases, mainly in agricultural hotspots

As of Friday, Saturday 5, Morocco recorded 226 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to Covid-19 infections in the country 9,839. 106 recoveries were recorded during the same period, or bringing the total number of recoveries to 8,223.

The death toll stands at 213, with a fatality rate of 2.2%. The number of active cases in Morocco is 1,403.

The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region recorded the highest number of infections, which reached 156 in 24 hours. This figure is confirmed the day after the discovery of a large industrial hotspot in the commune of Lalla Mimouna, near the town of Kenitra. 

28 cases were recorded in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma, 21 in Casablanca-Settat, 11 in Fès-Meknès, 6 in Marrakech-Safi and 4 in Guelmim-Oued Noun, mainly in Sidi Ifni.
