During the past 24 hours, Morocco recorded 138 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 9,977. During the same period, 61 Covid-19 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 8,284, hence a 83% recovery rate.
During the daily press briefing on the pandemic in Morocco, Hind Ezzine, head of the epidemic diseases service at the epidemiology department pointed out that a new coronavirus-related death was recorded during the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll in the Kingdom to 214. The fatality rate is at 2.1%. Active cases in Morocco are a total of 1,479.
37 of the new cases were recorded in the Laayoune-Sakia al Hamra region, most precisely in the city of Tarfaya. 34 cases were recorded in the Marrakech-Safi region, 31 in Casablanca-Settat, 15 in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, 6 in Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, 13 in Fez-Meknes, all in the city of Fez, 1 in Beni Mellal-Khenifra and 1 in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.
14 of the active cases are in a severe condition and 4 in a critical one.
