A Covid-19 screening campaign was carried out by the Renault group on June 22 led to the discovery of more than 90 infections within the company’s Tangier plant.
According to local online newspaper Tanja24 and French-language newspaper Le Desk, 10,000 employees at Renault Tanger underwent coronavirus tests, including the 90 ones who tested positive.
The 90 confirmed cases are all «asymptomatic» and are located in Tangier, Tetouan and Fahs Anja, a nearby municipality.
In May, 300 Renault group employees underwent coronavirus tests, 32 of them tested positive in Casablanca. Renault partially resumed its industrial activities on April 27. The Tangier plant started operating on June 4.
