Moroccan teenager found drowned in the Rhone

A 16-year-old Moroccan teenager was found dead drowned in the Rhone, on June 27, after having thrown himself off the Décines bridge in Lyon.

According to RTL, eyewitnesses and the deceased’s friends alerted the police at around 3pm. Two hours later, the body was recovered by the emergency services. An investigation launched into the incident revealed that the teenager was with his friends and jumped to have fun.

Contacted by Yabiladi on Monday, the brother of the deceased Omar A. said that he will be travelling to Lyon to visit the Moroccan consulate. Currently residing in Barcelona, Omar said that his brother was an unaccompanied minor in France.

The family of the deceased want to repatriate his remains to be buried in Morocco.
