The King and Queen of Spain, Don Felipe and Dona Letizia, are expected to visit Ceuta and Melilla during their currently ongoing royal tour.

The information was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Zarzuela Palace, the residence of the King of Spain, El Faro de Ceuta reports. The same source did not reveal when the royal couple will be visiting the autonomous cities, but it stated that their royal tour started in June.

«They have already traveled to the Canary Islands and then flew to the Balearic Islands before visiting Andalusia», it added. «For security reasons, the trips of the king and the queen are generally only confirmed a few days before», it added.

King Felipe never visited Ceuta or Melilla during his reign. His predecessor, Don Juan Carlos only visited the two cities once, in 2007. At the time, Morocco rejected the visit and recalled its ambassador to Madrid.
