In a document sent to regional health directors and the Council of the National Order of Physicians on Monday, the Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb revealed the new recommendations from the scientific and technical committee dedicated to Covid-19, which met a few days ago.

The major change targets Moroccans repatriated from abroad, Abdelkrim Meziane Bellefquih, form the Health Ministry told Medias24.

After undergoing coronavirus tests, returnees who test negative will have to self-quarantine at their home, the official said. They will undergo a second coronavirus test to rule out any infection. These returnees will have to upload Wyqaytna, the Covid-19 contact tracing app. Positive cases will have to be hospitalized.

The new measures are meant to speed the repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded abroad. For the moment, all repatriated Moroccans had been quarantined for nine days in hotels and had undergone two tests.
