King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia «were not planning to visit Ceuta and Melilla», Spanish Finance Minister and government spokeswoman Maria Jesus Montero said on Tuesday July 7.
«The circumstances could change but there has been no plan to visit the two cities so there has been no cancellation», she told reporters.
The King and Queen of Spain are currently on a royal tour, visiting the 17 autonomous regions of the country amid the Covid-19 crisis. Ceuta and Melilla are two autonomous cities for Spain. On July 17, the royal couple is expected to visit Catalonia.
Earlier this month, media in Spain reported that the Spanish government had canceled Felipe VI's visit to Ceuta and Melilla to avoid Morocco’s anger.
