After having exported, in two months, 18.5 million masks to 11 countries, through 69 companies, Morocco has boosted its national production, which now goes up to 14 million masks produced per day.
According to daily newspaper L'Economiste, «more than 300 Moroccan companies hold Imanor certification, for the manufacture of face masks».
Some of these companies manufacture reusable or non-woven masks. Those producing this second category «now have a production capacity of 10 million units per day, compared to 4 million for producers of reusable masks», reports the daily.
This performance comes as a made-in-Morocco machine for manufacturing protective masks with double ear straps was presented Wednesday in Casablanca.
The device was designed and produced by Moroccan experts and engineers, under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy. According to MAP, it consists of a machine for making mask squares and another «ear-loop» for welding the straps.
