Morocco : 203 new coronavirus cases, five new deaths and 31 severe and critical cases

203 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 15,745.

218 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total of recovered patients to 12,283, hence a recovery rate of around 78%.

Five deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, the highest daily toll in the country since the beginning of May. The death toll attributed to Covid-19 is 250 while the fatality rate reaches 1.6%.

Morocco now has 3,212 active cases under treatment, including 31 in severe or critical condition due to age and/or chronic diseases.

Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded most of the new cases, with 71 infections in the following cities: 61 in Tangier, 7 in Tetouan, 2 in Larache and 1 in M'diq. Next comes the region of Fez-Meknes, with 38 new cases, all recorded in the city of Fez. 23 new confirmed cases were also recorded in the Marrakech-Safi region: 20 in Marrakech, 2 in Safi and 1 in Rhamna.

The Casablanca-Settat region has recorded 21 new cases: 18 in Casablanca, 2 in Mohammedia and 1 in El Jadida. The same amount of infections was recorded in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region: 14 new cases in Rabat, 3 in Khemisset, 2 in Temara and 2 in Sidi Kacem.

Additionally, 14 cases were recorded in Oujda (Oriental region), 7 cases in Laayoune (Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region) and 4 in Khenifra (Beni Mellal-Khenifra region). Finally, 2 cases were recorded in Agadir (Souss-Massa region) and 2 others in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region).

Only two regions, namely Draa-Tafilalet and Guelmim-Oued Noun, recorded no new cases between yesterday and today.
