Only a few hours after having decided to strengthen lockdown measures in Tangier, the local authorities have decided to loosen containment measures in the city and only implement them in only one district.

According to Tanja24, it was decided to lift the lockdown measures on the rest of the city and keep it in the Beni Makada district. In the latter, shops and cafes will have to close their doors on 8 pm. The decision will allow the city to resume its economic activities in Tangier.

For the record, the Interior Ministry announced that the city will be entirely confined from midday. The same source also announced the suspension of urban, rail and road transport, from and to Tangier.

Following the first decision, Morocco's national railway operator ONCF already announced on Monday the suspension of trains to and from Tangier.
