633 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 20,278.
156 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the kingdom to 16,438, with a recovery rate of 81%.
Eight (8) deaths were recorded between yesterday and today. The total number of deaths related to Covid-19 reached 313. These deaths were recorded in Tangier (4 deaths), Marrakech (2), Casablanca (1) and Sidi Kacem (1).
Morocco now has 3,527 active cases under treatment (10 Moroccans for every 100,000 inhabitants), most of them are in the region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (1,366), Casablanca-Settat (929), Fès-Meknes (652) and Marrakech-Safi (257).
57 of the active cases are in serious or critical condition because of age or chronic diseases or both factors at the same time, including 7 on ventilators. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (20), Marrakech-Safi (18), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma (11), Fès-Meknes (6) and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (2).
Most of the new cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, with 222 infections. 168 of them were confirmed in Berrechid, 48 in Casablanca, 4 in Benslimane and 2 in Mohammedia.
Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima recorded 137 new cases : 119 in Tangier, 5 in Larache, 4 in Tetouan, 4 in Al Hoceima, 3 Fahs Anjra and 2 in Mdiq-Fnidek.
Fez-Meknes recorded 132 cases : 111 in Fez, 16 in Moulay Yaakoub and 5 in Sefrou. In Marrakech-Safi, 70 cases were recorded : 66 in Marrakech and 4 in Safi.
Rabat-Sale-Kenitra recorded 45 new cases : 34 in Sidi Kacem, 5 in Rabat, 5 in Sale and 1 in Temara. Daara-Tafilalet recorded 11 new cases : 8 in Tinghir, 2 in Midelt and 1 in Ouerzazate. The Oriental region confirmed 10 new cases : 9 in Jerada and 1 in Berkane.
Béni Mellal-Khenifra recorded 7 cases : 5 in Beni Mellal, one in Azilal and one in Khouribga. Souss-Massaregion has 1 case in Inezegane Ait Meloul.
