After a battle with the coronavirus that lasted for 141, Fatima Bridle, a 35-year-old Moroccan, has finally left the hospital. «It’s great to be back», said Fatima, known as Britain’s longest-suffering Covid-19 patient.

Fatima, who lives in the UK, spent 141 days in the hospital, including 105 days on a ventilator after she tested positive for the coronavirus. She also suffered from pneumonia, a collapsed lung and sepsis, and reportedly spent 40 days in a coma.

«I can’t believe I’ve woken up from all of this. I feel I’ve been gifted a new life», she told The Sun. «I wished I was dead at one point. It was so scary and terrifying. I wanted to scream out but I couldn’t», she recalled.

The Moroccan-British woman felt unwell after returning from a month-long stay in Mohammedia, Morocco. She tested positive for the coronavirus alongside her husband Tracy, 56, in March.

Fatima is reunited with her husband after her recovery. «The NHS saved my life. Everyone was incredible. All deserve a medal», she said.
