While the Fez-Meknes region is recording one of the highest daily Covid-19 infections in the last couple of weeks in Morocco, local authorities announced, Monday, the creation of a hospital field in Fez to accommodate Covid-19 patients.
According to several Arabic-speaking newspapers, the facility will have a capacity of 1,200 beds, with two wings for men and women, which will be «monitored by experienced health workers».
The establishment of this facility comes as part of a proactive approach at a time when the city is recording high numbers of coronavirus cases in recent days, along with the increase in the number of tests carried out daily.
This field hospital should therefore facilitate the management of Covid-19 cases, allow the intensive care services to take care of critical cases, as well as free up hospital beds to provide the necessary medical care to people with other conditions.
Monday evening, during the daily press briefing, the Ministry of Health announced that the Fez-Meknes region recorded 225 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including 201 confirmed cases in Fez only.
