A new coronavirus case and three recoveries recorded in the Tindouf camps

The number of new coronavirus infections in the Tindouf camps has reached 5 confirmed cases, according to an update published Monday by the Polisario Front.

A spokesperson from a «National Committee» set up by the separatist movement said that a new case has been confirmed in the camps, bringing the number of Sahrawis infected with the virus to 5. Among the five confirmed cases, three have recorded. One coronavirus-related death was recorded in the camps, according to the same source.

The spokesperson also acknowledged that 50 suspected cases have been screened for Covid-19, while the results of these tests have not been released yet.

On July 23, the Front announced that 4 coronavirus cases were discovered in the Tindouf camps. The separatist movement also announced on Tuesday the suspension of Friday prayers and group prayers in mosques located in the camps.
