Morocco to strengthen lockdown measures in Tangier-Asilah and Fez starting from Wednesday at 8 pm

Taking into consideration the growing number of new coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and deaths, the government has decided to apply, starting from Wednesday 05 August 2020 at 8 pm, a series of preventive measures to the Tangier-Assilah  and Fez provinces.

In Tangier and Fez

Having exceptional authorizations to travel from and to Tangier and Fez is mandatory.

All gatherings are forbidden.

Stores, supermarkets and cafés will have to close by 10 pm.

Restaurants should close by 11 pm.

Beaches and public parks will be closed to the public.

Gyms, sports halls and neighborhood sports fields will be closed.

Transportation means will only be able to operate at 50% of their capacity.

In the residential districts of Tangier and Fez

Districts will be closed by security barriers.

Travel to and from the areas affected by the closure will be subject to special travel authorizations issued by the local authorities.

Local shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants will have to close by 8 pm.

Local souks to close by 4 pm.

Hammams and beauty salons will have to remain closed.
