People who have spent time in Morocco will be refused entry to the Netherlands. Dutch Justice Minister Ferd Grapperhaus, following the increase of Covid-19 infections in the Kingdom, announced the decision.

«Unfortunately, the health situation in Morocco has deteriorated to such an extent that the member states of the European Union decided, on August 7, to remove this country from the safe country travel list», Grapperhaus said.

Indeed, Morocco was removed from the European Union’s safe list of countries from which the bloc allows non-essential travel. The Kingdom was removed from the list following a dramatic increase in the number of Covid-19 infections in the last couple of days.

The Netheralnds’ measure is expected to come into effect on August 13.
