On Sunday, nearly 19 patients who tested positive for the new coronavirus in Italy came from abroad. Eight of them were self-isolating, seven showed symptoms and two are asymptomatic.
Among these imported cases, three people came into contact with a positive patient during a stay in Croatia. One was on vacation in Malta, while the other three traveled to Morocco, Spain and Mexico, according to Il Resto del Carlino. The local newspaper indicates that the patients reside in Carpi, Fioriano, Ravarino, Zocca and Maranello, in the province of Modena, as well as in the Venetian municipality of Concordia.
Faced with the rising number of infections in Italy, one of the countries most affected by the health crisis, preventive measures have been reinforced in several provinces. Thus, gathering places where natural ventilation could be lacking, such as nightclubs, have been closed.
