Armored vehicles were seen on Friday in Marrakech, Casablanca and Beni Mellal, three cities where lockdown measures have been tightened, after recording a worrying increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
In Marrakech, army vehicles once again crisscrossed the streets of the city, after having been absent since the gradual lifting of containment measures.
On Friday evening, it was around the city of Casablanca where a significant mobilization of security forces, with the help of the armed forces, was seen in certain areas of the economic capital.
A group of armored vehicles and soldiers were seen gathering in Boulevard Brahim Roudani, with a view to their dispatching from midnight in several neighborhoods affected by the tightening of prevention measures.
This is also the case for Beni Mellal, where movement restrictions are applied over 6 neighborhoods. Armored vehicles crisscrossed the main arteries of the city yesterday, to help local authorities implement the new decisions made by the government.
On Thursday, in a press release, the government announced new restrictive measures aimed at containing the spread of Covid-19 in the three cities.
