Morocco : 78 health workers test positive for the coronavirus

The Movement of Nurses and Health Technicians in Morocco (MITSAM) announced, Sunday, that 78 health workers have tested positive for the coronavirus during the last 48 hours.

In a Facebook post, MITSAM confirmed that currently «428 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been recorded since the start of the epidemic».

The movement accused the Ministry of Health of carrying out an embargo on the «real» number of infections among medical workers, recalling that dozens of nurses and health technicians «are still awaiting the results of tests».

The branches of MITSAM in different regions of the kingdom had previously organized demonstrations in front of hospitals, to denounce the high number of positive cases in their ranks, as well as the compensation offered by the ministry for those mobilized since the start of this pandemic.

In August, MITSAM mentioned, in a press release, 118 Covid-19 infections among the ranks of nurses and health technicians in Morocco.
