After he said that Morocco rejects any normalization of relations with Israel, Palestinian movement Hamas welcomed, Prime Minister Saadeddine El Othmani’s comments.
«We, as Palestinians and Hamas welcome the position of the head of government of Morocco, Saad-Eddine El Othmani, with respect and thanks, especially because it comes at a time marked by the shameful collapse of some Arab regimes which are rushing towards the occupation», Houssam Badran, member of Hamas’ political bureau said in a press release.
«The Palestinian people will never forget these positive and sincere positions that are in favor of the Palestinian cause», he added.
Speaking Sunday, Moroccan Prime Minister Saadeddine El Othmani rejected any normalization of relations with Israel.
«We refuse any normalization with the Zionist entity because this emboldens it to go further in breaching the rights of the Palestinian people», El Otmani told his Islamist PJD party during its 16th national youth forum.
El Othmani’s remarks come as Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, is expected to visit Morocco after the UAE and Israel concluded a deal to normalize ties.
