The Polisario denounces the project of building a solar power plant in Dakhla

The Polisario has quickly reacted to news announcing the start of a solar plant construction works in Dakhla by the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (Masen).

The president of the Mines and Petroleum Authority denounced the new project, claiming, «it is an act which once again reflects Morocco's inability to respect international legitimacy and undermines the peace plan and efforts made by the United Nations», he added.

He also once again invited international companies to leave Western Sahara. Shortly before the rant of this Polisario official, Western Sahara Resource Watch published an article on the subject on its site. 

The NGO also pointed out that Masen has two other renewable energy production projects in the province that are part of the Noor program : one in Laayoune and another in Boujdour.
