Despite the efforts of the Sabgha Bagha festival, a local street art festival, to decorate and bring life to the sad walls of Casablanca, angry voices against street art have decided otherwise.

On Thursday, Italian street artist Francesco Camillo Giorgino, also known as Millo, said on his Facebook account that one of his works was removed from one of Casablanca’s walls.

«Just got this pic from a fan in Casablanca», he wrote with disappointment, sharing a photo of his Casablanca graffiti being covered. Dubbed «handle with care», Millo’s work shows how women are treated in our society and their fight to obtain their rights.

His painting shows a woman inside a cardboard box, carefully covered with polystyrene by a man, to protect her. The wall is located in a big central area of the city dedicated to the wholesale trade.
