The Guerguerate border crossing has once again been blocked. Since Monday morning, around ten Sahrawis from areas controlled by the Polisario east of the security wall, have closed the crossing hampering commercial activities between Morocco and Mauritania.

MINURSO sent three envoys on Monday afternoon to start talks with the group of Sahrawis. The latter asks the UN to «put an end to the plundering of Western Sahara's natural resources by Morocco».

This offensive comes a few days after the Polisario leadership protested against a solar power plant project launched by Morocco in Dakhla.

At the same time as Guerguerate was blocked, young Sahrawis observed a sit-in in Dakhla on Monday, August 31 to demand employment.
