Morocco : 1,941 coronavirus cases, mainly in Casablanca, Salé and Kenitra

1,941 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 75,721.

1,143 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 57,239.

33 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,427. These deaths were recorded in Casablanca (8), Marrakech (7), Fès (3), Tanger-Assilah (2), Khénifra (2), Salé (1), Kénitra (1), Rabat (1), Errachidia ( 1), Ouarzazate (1), Zagora (1), Midelt (1), Tétouan (1), Oujda (1), Meknes (1) and Taza (1).

The country now has 17,055 active cases under treatment. The number of critically ill patients reached 240, including 51 on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat region still tops the list, with 737 new cases : 628 in Casablanca, 25 in Mohammedia, 21 in El Jadida, 19 in Mediouna, 15 in Berrechid, 15 in Nouaceur, 12 in Settat and 2 cases in Sidi Bennour.

Next comes the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region with 306 new infections : 117 in Salé, 101 in Kénitra, 29 in Sidi Slimane, 23 in Skhirat-Témara, 18 in Rabat, 11 in Khemisset and 7 cases in Sidi Slimane. Drâa-Tafilalet follows with 203 new cases: 87 in Errachidia, 44 in Ouarzazate, 35 in Zagora, 19 in Tinghir and 18 in Midelt.

In Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 160 cases were recorded : 65 in Beni Mellal, 30 in Azilal, 26 in Khouribga, 21 in Khénifra and 18 in Fqih Bensaleh.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 121 new cases : 85 in Marrakech, 19 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 9 in Safi, 5 in Essaouira, 2 cases in the province of Rhamna and one case in Youssoufia.

118 cases were recorded in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region : 39 in Tanger-Asilah, 34 in Tétouan, 30 in Al Hoceima, 7 in M'diq-Fnideq, 4 in Larache, 2 cases in Fahs Anjra , one case in Ouazzane and another in Chefchaouen.

Souss-Massa recorded 95 new infections : 41 in Agadir Ida Ou Tanane, 39 in Inzegane Ait Melloul, 8 in Tata, 5 in Chtouka Ait Baha, one case in Tiznit and another in Taroudannt.

75 cases were recorded in the Oriental region (40 cases in Oujda-Angad, 14 in Nador, 13 in Figuig, 4 in Berkane, 3 in Taourirt and one case in Guercif), 69 in the province of 'Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab) and 46 in Fez-Meknes (19 in Fès, 15 in Meknes, 4 in Taza, 4 in Ifrane, 3 in El Hajeb and one case in Taounate).

The Guelmim-Oued Noun region confirmed 11 new infections, including 10 in Guelmim and one case in Sidi Ifni.
